Part time Work

Postby samuraisl » Sun Feb 14, 2010 7:42 pm

Hi,

A UK London university i've appled for PG research studies only offer partial scholarship for tution fees.
However living allowance scholarship will not be an issue.

There's a balance of about 7,000 pounds per year needed for tution fees.

1.Is it possible to do a part time job with student visa to cover this balance amount?
2.Do I need to show that I have that balance amount when i'm applying for visa? or
3.Do I require to secure a part time job before applying for visa?

Your quick response is highly appreciated.

Regards,
samu

You can find some answers for the part time jobs in UK from the following previous threds

I'm not sure about how to show the shortage in your expenses, and not sure whether it is possible to say that you can cover rest of the amount by doing off campus work. We'll wait and see someone who knows about this......

Thanks sam.

Tier4 General & Child Student visa guide says
http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply ... t#20962971
You must show that you have enough money to pay your fees and monthly living costs for at least the first year of studies (or the length of your course if it is shorter than 9 months).

So with this type of visa full 1st year tution fees should be shown.
