sl2logo_small1SL2College was envisioned in 2005 with the primary goal of helping Sri Lankan students interested in pursuing higher education by providing them with the relevant information that would help them make an informed decision regarding their respective educational goals. 
 
The vision of SL2College is to become “An information hub for Sri Lankan students seeking to pursue higher education”. SL2college aims to deliver by providing in-depth and accurate information regarding but not limited to:

Administrative Directors

Nayana Samaranayake
nayanaNayana attended Royal College where he did his G.C.E. Advance Level Examination in 2000 prior to moving to the United States. He received his B.Sc. in Computer Science with a minor in Economics in 2003 from Illinois Institute of Technology, USA. He then went on to complete a M.Sc. in Computer Science in 2005 from Stanford University, USA. He has since been working for Google Inc at their head office in Mountain View, CA, USA as a software engineer in the Web Search Infrastructure group.


D.C. Jayasundera
dcDC attended Royal College where he did his G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination prior to entering University of Moratuwa in 1998. After receiving his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Moratuwa, he started his career as a Structural Engineer working for a consultancy based in Oregon, USA. After spending some years in the industry he entered Stanford University in California in 2005 where he obtained his MS in Environmental Engineering. He is currently reading for the graduate degree "Engineer" at Stanford, where his research focuses on policy and planning in water and sanitation issues in developing countries. He also earned the Advanced Diploma in management accounting from Charted Institute for Management Accountants (CIMA)-UK.

Nishad Jayasundara
nishadNishad studied at Richmond College and completed his G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in 1999. He then received a scholarship to study in India at Mahindra United World College. In 2001, as a recipient of Davis Fellowship, Nishad started his undergraduate studies at College of the Atlantic, a small liberal arts college on the coast of Maine. Upon completing his degree, he moved westwards to join a PhD program at Stanford University, California. He is currently doing his thesis project focusing on temperature effects on cardiac physiology in fish species.

Nimna Ranatunga
nimnaNimna attended St. Bridget’s Convent Colombo where she completed her G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in Biological Science in 2003. She received her B.A. in Biological Sciences with a Minor in Chemistry from Concordia College Moorhead Minnesota in 2008. She is currently reading for her PhD at the Molecular and Computational Biology Department at the University of Southern California.

Charitha Ratwatte
CharithaCharitha received his primary and secondary education at Royal College, Colombo. He received a B.Sc (Hons) in Information Systems from the Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, offered in Sri Lanka by what was then the Informatics Institute of Computer Studies. After five years working in several roles at Millennium Information Technologies Ltd, Malabe, Charitha enrolled in the MBA program at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. Charitha received his MBA with Public Management Program and Global Management Program Certificates in 2009, and returned to Sri Lanka to work on a Social Innovation Fellowship awarded by Stanford's Center for Social Innovation.

Nuwan Senaratna
NuwanNuwan currently works as a Software Engineer for Facebook Inc., in Palo Alto, California. He got his MSCS (Master of Science in Computer Science) from Stanford University in 2009, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and his B.Sc. in Computer Science (Special) from Colombo University in 2006. Nuwan had his primary and secondary education at Royal College,Colombo, and is also a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (London).

 

Country Managers


USA: Sampath Jayarathna
sampathSampath attended St. Anne’s College (Kurunegala) and completed his G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in 1999. He earned his B.Sc. Special degree (First Class Honors) in Computer Science from University of Peradeniya, and BIT (External) degree from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. During his undergraduate tenure, Sampath worked as a Visiting Lecture in Computer Science at the American College of Higher Education (Kandy). Upon completion of his B.Sc. from Peradeniya, he also served as a Lecturer in Computer Science at University of Peradeniya for few months before coming to Texas State for his MS degree in CS.

Canada: Yoshani De Silva
yoshaniYoshani studied at a British international school in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, until her Ordinary Level (IGCSE) exams and moved to Toronto, Canada, to continue her education. She is a graduate from the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Toronto. Since 2004, she has been employed at the University Health Network, a leading health centre affiliated with the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine. She is a member of the clinical research team that studies novel techniques and anti-fibrinolytic medications that can reduce extensive bleeding in adult patients undergoing major orthopedic surgeries.

Sasanka Jayadasa
sasankaSasanka attended Royal College where he did his G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in 2006. Currently he is a 3rd year undergraduate at University of Moaratuwa, Majoring in Chemical and Process Engineering. He is also reading for the CIMA Professional Qualification and is interested in pursuing a higher degree in Business Adminstration. He is actively involved with the Rotaract and Toastmasters movements and has chaired a number of conferences , seminars and community service projects.

Durga Pulendran
DurgaDurga, having completed her schooling at St.Bridget's Convent, received her B.A (H) in Sociology from the University of Delhi in India (2004) and her Masters in International Development and Environmental Analysis from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia (2006). Since her return to Sri Lanka, She has been working as a consultant with different Humanitarian and Development organisations. She is currently working as an Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant at ICTA Sri Lanka.

Kamilka Malwatte
kamilkaKamilka attended Visakha Vidayalaya, where she completed her G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in the Arts Stream in 2002. She received her B.A in Social Studies from Harvard College, Cambridge, M.A in 2007. In 2008, she completed her Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. She is currently a second-year student at Cornell Law School, Ithaca, N.Y.

Nirodha Wijewickrama
nirodhaNirodha attended St. Bridget's Convent where she did her G.C.E. Advance Level Examination in 2003. Prior to coming to the United States in 2004 she completed a Diploma in General Psychology at the American College of Higher Education in Sri Lanka. She received her B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Mathematics in 2008 from Fairleigh Dickinson University, USA. She is currently working for Vitech Systems Group Inc at their head office in New York, NY, USA as a product analyst in the V3 product development group. In the future, she hopes to pursue a MBA in Project Management.

Ayaska Fernando
ayaskaAyaska attended Wesley College until his Ordinary Level Examination in 2001, and studied at Asian International School for his Advanced Level Examination till 2004. He received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (ABET) in 2008 from Yale University, USA. He has since been working as an Assistant Director for the Undergraduate Admissions Office at Yale University, USA, where he is responsible for applications from Oregon, North Carolina, Southern California, Long Island (NY) and the Bergen Academies (NJ). In his spare time he plays intramural innertube waterpolo, thumps on the piano and tries inventing recipes.

Azman Onies
AzmanAzmaan attended the Colombo International School where he did his GCE Advanced Level Examination in 2009. He is currently an undergraduate at Stanford University. He plans to major in either Computer Science or Management Science and Engineering.
